I didn’t pass the bar, because I ran into it. Also, I didn’t pass the bar, because I didn’t take it, because I also didn’t go to law school. Actually, I have no interest in practicing the law, I’m more interested in least avoiding it. However, my lawyers (otherwise known as AI, because I can’t afford a real lawyer) insist that I must disclose the following information if I want to place affiliate links within some of my blog posts.
So, please pay very close attention to the following statements, so that you are super clear what I’m doing. The FTC, which is a really legal sounding commission, pays close attention to statements made on all blog posts that are doing affiliate links. If you aren’t clear about the important statements, I’ve bolded the important things. Now to the statement:
Some posts on this blog — the ones labeled Bitter Reviews — contain affiliate links. That means if you click a link and buy something, I earn a commission. You pay nothing extra; the brand pays me out of their end.
Brands also send me free products to review. When that happens, I’ll say so, right in the post.
What this does NOT mean:
- No brand gets to see, approve, or edit my review before it goes live. Ever.
- If a product is garbage, the review will say it’s garbage. That’s the entire premise.
- I only review things I’ve actually used and tested myself.
Why am I telling you this? Two reasons: well the FTC requires it (again one of those commissions that require you to do stuff), and I’d rather be bitterly blunt about it than have you wonder. Trust and bitterness is what this blog has run on for 14 years now. So that won’t change.
